Based on dummy reading in the dynamic crash tests, the Rapid scored maximum points for its protection of the 3 year infant. Forward movement of that dummy in the frontal impact test was not excessive and, in the side impact, both dummies were properly contained by their restraints, minimising the likelihood of head contact with parts of the car's interior. The passenger airbag can be disabled to allow a rearward-facing restraint to be used in that seating position. However, information provided to the driver regarding the status of the airbag is not clear and the system was not rewarded. There is inadequate warning of the dangers of using a rearward-facing restraint without first disabling the airbag.

The bumper provided good protection for pedestrians' legs and scored maximum points. In most areas where a child's head might strike the bonnet, good protection was provided but the protection was predominantly poor in those areas likely to be struck by an adult's head.

Based on information reviewed by Euro NCAP, a similar level of safety performance can be expected from the Skoda Rapid Spaceback

The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal impact. The Rapid scored maximum points for its protection of the front passenger. Readings for both front seat dummies indicated good protection of the knees and femurs and Skoda showed that a similar level of protection would be available to occupants of different sizes and to those sat in different positions. The Rapid scored maximum points for its protection of the driver in the side barrier test. In the more severe side pole test, protection of most body regions was good and that of the chest was adequate. The seat and head restraint provided marginal protection against whiplash in the event of a rear-end collision.
